Assessors approve two exemptions, deny one in April

SANDWICH — The Sandwich Board of Assessors approved two real estate exemptions and denied one. The Board voted unanimously in April on two exemptions (Bills #171-7672 and #712-6953) and denied one exemption (Bill #9302) that failed to meet Commonwealth FY26 criteria. Chair Larry Harrington, Vice-Chair Nick Fernandes, Assistant Assessor Laura Watts, and Member Robert James conducted the votes in executive session.
The Board also announced that a new administrative assistant will start on May 4 to support the Assessing Department.
