Board of Appeals approves special permit for floodplain reconstruction

SANDWICH — Board of Appeals approves floodplain-property special permit at 8 White Cap Path. Attorney Christopher Kirrane represented the applicant and architect Anne Michniewicz on the Lemire proposal to raze and rebuild a single-family dwelling on a nonconforming oceanfront lot with a current rear setback nonconformity of 16.4 feet. The new structure will be 3.5 feet closer to the property line, comply with current building codes including three feet above the floodplain, and use wood pilings required by the Conservation Commission.
The Board voted unanimously to approve the special permit with conditions.
