Board of Assessors approves exemptions and abatements

Sandwich assessors approve exemptions and abatements for FY26. The Board of Assessors unanimously approved four tranches of real estate exemptions covering tax bills #6036-8790, #927-1999, #9304-8916, and #1412-8751, along with one set of real estate and personal property abatements under bill #4247-1450 during executive session on February 3. Chair Larry Harrington, Vice-Chair Nick Fernandes, and Member Robert James, participating via Zoom, each voted in favor of all approvals.
The assessing department reported receiving 20 real estate abatement applications before the February 2 deadline, with the majority of exemption applications already submitted.
