SANDWICH — Board of Assessors approves FY26 exemptions and abatements. Vice-Chair Nick Fernandes and Member Robert James voted unanimously to approve five sets of real estate exemptions and one set of real estate and personal property abatements at the April 7 meeting. The board also unanimously denied one set of exemptions that did not meet Massachusetts criteria.

The Assessing Department reported that abatement applications are wrapping up with two applicants still needing to schedule inspection appointments, and the board approved hiring a new administrative assistant to begin work April 27th.
