Sandwich Board of Health elects Hurley as chairman. Ronald Hurley was unanimously elected chairman of the Board of Health on March 9, replacing David Liskowsky at a meeting at Sand Hill School Community Center. The board approved two variance requests for properties at 1 Captain Crocker Road and 227 Phillips Road, both under State Title 5 and Board of Health regulations, presented by engineer Tim Santos of Merrill Engineering.
Director Heather Gallant reported she is researching potential regulation of Kratom, a stimulant being sold in local convenience stores.
