Council on Aging hears healthy aging task force update

SANDWICH — The Council on Aging Board heard a 30-minute presentation on the Healthy Aging Cape Cod task force from Barnstable County Deputy Director Mandi Speakman, which focuses on coordinating aging services across income levels. Friends of the Council on Aging President Lynne Waterman reported the support organization is reorganizing with a nine-member board, updating its brochure, and expanding fundraising efforts for seniors. The board discussed the recent snowstorm response, noting that the National Guard assisted with snow removal and meal deliveries, supplemented by support from World Central Kitchen and Family Table Collaborative.
