Sandwich Finance Committee hears $42.2M school budget proposal, 2.6% increase. Superintendent Joseph P. Maruszczak presented the FY2027 operating plan approved by the School Committee on January 28, proposing $42,205,431 in spending while reducing staffing by 6% and maintaining level services.

The district projects slight enrollment decline to 2,102 students from the current 2,111, with Chapter 70 state aid projected at $75 per student. Committee members discussed rising insurance and other post-employment benefits costs and learned that a regional emergency communications system will generate significant savings.
