SANDWICH — Finance Committee hears police personnel request for $5.9M and reviews capital plans. Police Chief Jason Keene requested $5,883,768 for personnel and $498,000 for operations, including capital requests for a $29,998 taser lease and $30,000 Ranger vehicle. Fire Chief John Burke reported call volumes rising 100 to 200 annually; the regional dispatch center expected in 2028 will save significant costs.
DPW Director Paul Tilton requested $580,000 for equipment replacement, noting the recent storm cost over $160,000 and 43 miles, or 30 percent, of town roads are in failing condition. The Capital Improvement Planning Committee unanimously recommended all FY27 capital items.
