Finance Committee reviews FY27 budget with $1.2 million in savings

SANDWICH — Finance Committee hears $1.2 million in budget savings from health insurance figures. The Finance Committee approved minutes from prior meetings and heard presentations from Town Manager G. Dunham, Finance Director W.

Jennings, Wastewater Program Implementation Manager Dave Mason, and Human Resources Director Marie Buckner on the FY27 budget, infrastructure projects, and personnel matters. Dunham reported that revised health insurance and retirement benefits figures yielded approximately $1.2 million in savings, while the carrier switch to MIAA saved an additional $4.6 million. Mason outlined High School wastewater system upgrades costing $1.8 million and Title V conversions at Oakridge and Forestdale systems for $432,000.

Buckner reported the 2-person HR department conducted 220 interviews while recruiting for 78 positions with only 2 grievances filed over the past 7 years.
