Finance Committee reviews three CPA projects for warrant vote

Sandwich Finance Committee reviews three key Community Preservation projects totaling $1.3M. The Community Preservation Committee unanimously approved three projects: $755,300 for Middle High School tennis and pickleball courts, $505,375 for basketball courts and beach renourishment, and $50,000 for a Camp Lyndon ropes course. Director of Community Development Leanne Drake discussed housing affordability; Sandwich currently has 5 percent affordable housing (377 units), and three ongoing Chapter 40B developments could raise that to approximately 8 percent.
Town Manager G. Dunham presented warrant articles including renewal of the canal units 1 and 2 payments-in-lieu agreement with JERA, proposed at level funding for year one and 8 percent depreciation for the next two years.
