Historic District Committee approves 10 residential projects; scale concerns linger.
Historic District Committee · Meeting of February 9, 2026
Sandwich Historic District Committee approves 10 residential certificates, advances disputed home project. The committee, chaired by Diane Dileo, approved 10 Certificates of Appropriateness for projects ranging from deck replacement to new construction, with most votes unanimous. Application #25-190RB for a new home at 51 Tupper Avenue passed 3-1 despite Dileo's objection that the 2,500-square-foot structure exceeded the committee's 2,000-square-foot guidance and would appear "quite massive" compared to neighboring homes.
A solar-panel application from Joseph Giampietro was denied unanimously when neither the applicant nor representative appeared.
