Sandwich cultural district committee advances planning for June 30 public art unveiling. The Glass Town Cultural District Steering Committee unanimously approved financial reports showing a town account of $36,994.40, with approximately $24,000 available for spending, and a Friends account of $1,265.52. Members unanimously approved an $850 half-page advertisement in the 2026 Sandwich Chamber Guidebook to promote the event.
The public art sculpture, being created by artist Alfie, will feature four mandatory historic Sandwich buildings as design elements and suggested visual symbols, with public unveiling scheduled for June 30 at 4:00 PM at the library lawn and a reception at Brown Jug at 5:00 PM for invited guests.
