SANDWICH -- The town has taken its short-term rental survey offline after discovering an error, with officials pledging to reissue the questionnaire in about a month, according to a Town Hall News Flash posted July 30.

TOWN HALL

The Town of Sandwich announced it is temporarily removing its short-term rental survey from circulation to correct a technical error, according to the town's official News Flash feed. Officials said the survey will be reissued in roughly a month and thanked residents for their patience, emphasizing a commitment to accurately capturing community input on short-term rental policy before any changes move forward.

Elsewhere at Town Hall, the Sandwich Police Department has earned re-accreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission, a recognition the town highlighted on its homepage this week. The town also continues to promote its "Slow Down – In Our Town" public safety campaign ahead of a busy stretch of America 250 celebrations and summer tourist traffic, a joint effort between the Department of Public Works and the Police Department.

Residents can also find the finalized Town Charter now posted online after approval by the Massachusetts Legislature and governor, along with official results from the May 4 Annual Town Meeting and May 7 Annual Town Election, both now available on the town website.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Beachgoers are reminded that 2026 Sandwich Beach Stickers are now available for purchase either online at capecodbeachstickers.com or in person at the Tax Collector's Office inside Town Hall, with officials encouraging residents to buy early and avoid long lines as the summer season ramps up.

COMING UP

Residents with septic systems are being urged by the town to follow routine maintenance practices to protect groundwater, part of an ongoing public-education push tied to the town's Stormwater Management Program. The Town is also seeking volunteers to serve as an Alternate/Associate Member of the Conservation Commission, with interested residents encouraged to submit a Talent Bank form to help oversee wetlands and open-space protection.
