Sandwich Select Board Reorganizes; FY'27 Budget Shows $475K Surplus

Sandwich Select Board elected David Sampson Chair and Shane Hoctor Vice Chair, following the May election. The town is projected to have a surplus of at least $475,000 for FY'27 based on State Senate budget numbers, with Chapter 70 local aid increasing significantly and the excess levy reserve at approximately $3,750,000. The Board authorized Chair Sampson to sign a letter supporting the FY'27 Seaport Economic Council grant application for the Sandwich Marina Harborwalk construction project, which requires an 80/20 state/town match with the application deadline of June 1, 2026.
The Board also approved a Class II Used Car Dealer's License for Montero Towing LTD dba JP Auto Sales, with manager Juan Montero holding 15 years of automotive sales experience. Regular Select Board meetings will begin at 6:00 PM effective the next meeting.
