Sandwich to Close Kiahs Way for Paving Aug. 28
The Sandwich Department of Public Works will close Kiahs Way to all traffic Friday, Aug. 28, for paving between Quaker Meetinghouse Road and Mill Road, the latest in a string of summer road projects across town.
TOWN HALL
Kiahs Way will be shut down for the full workday on Aug. 28 while crews complete the paving, with full access restored by evening, according to the town's announcement. The closure comes after resurfacing work on the same stretch of road began earlier this month and follows a separate multi-day closure of Christopher Hollow Road for paving later this week, a project the town's News Flash also covered.
Separately, the town is looking for a volunteer to serve as an alternate or associate member of the Conservation Commission, a role that would help oversee protection of Sandwich's wetlands, open spaces and other natural resources; interested residents are asked to fill out a Talent Bank Form. The Department of Public Works and Sandwich Police Department are also promoting their "Slow Down, In Our Town" public safety campaign as the town heads into a week of America 250 celebrations and continued summer visitor traffic.
SCHOOLS
The Sandwich School Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday, Aug. 26, according to the town's public meeting calendar.
COMING UP
The Historic District Committee meets Monday, Aug. 24. The Board of Appeals meets Tuesday, Aug. 25.
