Sandwich to Host MassDOT Forum on Cape Cod Bridges Thursday
SANDWICH — State officials and MassDOT will join Sen. Dylan Fernandes for a public forum on the Cape Cod bridges this Thursday, Aug. 27, according to the town's event calendar, while a new paving notice closes Highfield Drive to traffic next week.
TOWN HALL
The town calendar lists a "MassDOT Senator Fernandes' Cape Cod Bridges Forum" for Thursday, Aug. 27, giving residents a chance to hear directly from state transportation officials on the crossings that carry all vehicle traffic on and off the Cape.
Separately, the town's News Flash feed announced that paving is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31, on Highfield Drive. Work will run from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the road will be closed to all traffic during the paving, reopening once conditions allow and returning to full access by day's end.
That closure adds to a summer of road work already underway: Christopher Hollow Road and nearby side streets remain shut to traffic through Thursday, Aug. 27, for previously announced paving, with full access restored at the end of each work day.
