Sandwich Select Board advances public works and fire substation project. The board voted unanimously to move forward with a proposal locating the fire substation at 500 Route 130 and the public works facility at 269 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, with Chair Charles M. Holden and Member Shane Hoctor backing the original design despite design cuts.

Member R. Patrick Ellis cited concerns about relocating the DPW to a residential area near Oakridge School and secured a commitment to a public engagement process. The estimated annual tax impact is $339 for an average taxpayer in the first year of the 30-year bond.
