Water District switches bill payments to UniPay system

Sandwich Water District · Meeting of April 9, 2026

SANDWICH — Water District votes to switch online payment systems. The Board of Water Commissioners unanimously approved moving from CardX to UniPay for customer bill payments. Office Manager Kristen Lawson reported the switch addresses persistent processing issues with CardX while offering customers credit card, check, and automatic payment options.

UniPay charges customers 50 cents to pay by check and will update daily for real-time balance viewing. The district will incur no signup fees but will pay a one-time Data West fee for file conversion. As of March 31, the district had collected 581 credit card payments totaling $71,193.68 against $128,435.54 in total receivables.
