Board enforces three tobacco violations with five-day sales suspensions

SANDWICH — The Sandwich Board of Health enforces tobacco-sale violations at three retailers. The board unanimously imposed five-day suspensions on tobacco sales at Meetinghouse Package Store on Cotuit Road, Shell on Route 130 in Forestdale, and Speedway #2444 on Route 130, each receiving a $1,000 fine for first violations of regulations banning sales to minors. Suspensions ran from January 9 through January 23, 2026.
When the Shell owner requested a shorter suspension period, Chairman David Liskowsky and members Ronald Hurley and Susan Twohig declined, citing Board of Health regulations. The board also unanimously approved a variance request for 357 Phillips Road under State Title 5.
