Board approves Main Street inn, continues church parking dispute

Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 10, 2026

SANDWICH — Board of Appeals unanimously approves special permit for small inn at 132 Main Street. Applicant Ms. Wolstenholme, who has managed the Dunbar Tea Room for six years, will operate a four-bedroom inn with five onsite parking spaces; the board voted unanimously.

In separate action, the board continued Grace Church of Cape Cod's special permit application to April 14, demanding revised site plans and formal offsite parking agreements; the facility proposal includes 68 onsite parking spaces in an 11,800-square-foot multi-function building. Vice Chair Chase Terrio pressed applicants Peter Vanko and Samuel Louis to formalize parking arrangements rather than rely on hypothetical partnerships, stating the board would not approve with the hope that arrangements become available.
